St Andrew’s Sanctuary Lamp: There is a book at the back of church to register donations for those who wish the anniversary of the deaths of their loved ones to be remembered.
Newcastle Foodbank Scheme: Thank you to all who have given so generously to this. Please remember this is a long term project that we are supporting so it is better to give one item per week throughout the year. This will allow for continuity as well as on-going quality.
Community of St Chad Holy Week Resources: These are available at the back of both churches for you to use in your Holy Week devotions. At 11am on Saturday 7th March, there is the annual service for the Community of St Chad at St Thomas’ Church, Doxey. Father Chris will be attending this service; if you would like to attend or would like to know more about the Community, please speak to Father Chris.
Saturday 28th March: Polish off your brain cells and get your teams together. The next quiz night is Saturday 28th March at 7pm. More details to follow
Messy Church: There will be a quick meeting after the 9.30am service this Sunday (22nd) for all those who would be able to help with Messy Church on Good Friday.
Pancake Evening: Many thanks to Jacqui Love and all who helped with the Pancake Evening at Regent Court on Shrove Tuesday. £139.44 was raised for church funds - well done!
Messy Church: Messy Church - the next Messy Church at St. Barnabas will be on Good Friday (3rd April), 10.30am-12.30pm. If you would like to be involved and help out, please speak to Sue Parry or Fr. Chris.
Stations of the Cross: Stations of the Cross will take place weekly at St Andrews on Friday evenings at 7pm throughout Lent. All are welcome to attend.
Sunday 2nd August: Cllr John Cooper is holding a Fun Day at Bradwell Lodge and is looking for volunteers to be members of a steering group to organise it. Some stall are booked and finance is available
Lent Course: Lent Groups start this week: Tuesday 24th, 7.30pm, at 16, Basford Park Road; and Wednesday 25th, after the 10am service at St. Barnabas. All welcome.
Saturday 14th March: 1st Porthill Scouts Drum Corps are holding a fundraising Afternoon Tea on Saturday 14th March at 3pm. For further details and tickets please see Brenda Dobson.
