Reverend Alison.

At the end of August, our parishes say goodbye to Rev'd Alison as she will be

broadening her experience by moving to a parish in Stone. It has been a joy to have Rev'd Alison with us for the first part of her curacy, and we wish her every blessing for the future. At the start of September, Rev'd Karen Petherick will be arriving to have a second curacy with our parishes. She will be full-time, and will be with us for about 18 months to two years. Please pray for both Rev'd Alison and Rev'd Karen as they prepare for their new ministries.

Murder Mystery Evening

Murder Mystery Evening to take place at St Barnabas' on Saturday 21
st July at  6.30pm. Tickets will cost £10.00 for adults and £5.00 for children, including food. Please bring your own drinks.

Porthill War Memorial

St Andrew's has been successful in obtaining a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to refurbish the Porthill War Memorial in time for this year's 100th anniversary commemorating Armistice Day. As part of the commemorations, there will be two Open Days on Saturday 6th October and Saturday 10th November .If you are available to help on either or both of these days, (welcoming visitors, serving refreshments, etc) then please speak to Fr Chris or Steve Brown. Thank you.

Kerry Parsons 1 Million Steps Challenge

Kerry will be  doing the 1 million steps challenge, in aid of Diabetes UK, from 1st July until 30th September. 1 million steps in 92 days is 10,870 steps per day. Any donations will be gratefully received! This takes place this year with Bishop Geoff at St Andrew's on Sunday 25th November. If you have not been confirmed and would like to talk about what it means, please speak to Fr Chris. Preparation classes will begin in September.


St Andrew’s Sanctuary Lamp

St Andrew’s Sanctuary Lamp is donated this week by Jean Wallbank in memory of Barbara Shufflebotham.


Sanctuary Lamp

Would those who would like their loved ones to be remembered at either the day of their death, or birthday or any other special anniversary please record their names etc. against the nearest Sunday to that date. The donation towards the Sanctuary Lamp should be given to the Treasurer Kerry Parsons.


St Barnabas 100’s Club

Linda Rowley is looking for more members of the 100’s club at St. Barnabas. Members are included in a monthly cash draw and contribute greatly to the work of the church. Anyone interested can contact Linda on 01782 866433. Thank you.


The Rainbows

The Rainbows are collecting used postage stamps to raise funds. Please would you save any stamps you get and pass them to Bev Jones at St. Andrew’s. Thank you.


Knitted Poppies for Remembrance
For Remembrance Sunday this year, we would like to have a display of knitted poppies. If you knit and would like a pattern to make some poppies for the church, please see Jacqui Love. Thank you.
