Forthcoming Event:


This takes place this year with Bishop Geoff at St Andrew's on Sunday 25th November. If you have not been confirmed and would like to talk about what it means, please speak to Fr Chris. Preparation classes will begin in September.


Afternoon at Shallowford House
There will be a parish outing to the Shallowford House Open Gardens on Sunday 10th
 June from 2- 4pm. Rev'd Alison will give a tour of the house and gardens and lead a time of prayer together in the Chapel. There will also be opportunity to spend time in the gardens and enjoy a Cream Tea in the Dining Room. Sign up on the sheet at the back of church to give an indication of numbers and to arrange shared lifts. The only cost will be £2.50 for a cream tea. Bring family and friends, all are welcome. Speak to Revd Alison if you would like more information.


Plant Sale at St Andrew’s

Many thanks to everyone who helped with and supported the Plant Sale at St Andrew's yesterday. Special thanks as always to Sue & Steve Brown for their tireless efforts once again to organise such a great event!


St Andrew’s PCC

St Andrew's PCC meets this Wednesday, 23rd May, after the evening service.


Table Top Sale
The Centurion Explorers of Wolstanton will be holding a table top sale at St Barnabas Church on Saturday 26
May, 10-2pm. This is to fundraise for a trip to Canada . Admission is free and refreshments are available. Please come along to support the explorers.


Congratulations to Hilary Dale who has won a prize in the Mothers’ Union photographic competition. Well done Hilary.


St Barnabas Summer Fair

St Barnabas summer fair is coming up on Saturday 9th June. If anyone would like to bring any bottles, donations or raffle items these are much appreciated. Please leave them in the back of the church. Thank you.

Summer Study Course

A short course on The Bible begins on Tuesday 12th June, 7.30pm. It lasts for 6 weeks and we will once again be joining with our friends in neighbouring parishes. The course will take place at St Mark's Basford - lifts can be provided. Please speak to Fr Chris if you would like more information.


Rev’d Alison Ordination

Rev'd Alison will be ordained as priest on Saturday 23rd June, 4pm, at St Giles' Church Newcastle. Please do come and support her at this service if you can. Thank you.


St Andrews Readers                                                                                       

More readers are needed to fill out the rota for 11.00am Sunday morning services.  Could anyone interested in contributing to our services in this way, please contact Moira Hammond.  (07788 402195)


Summer holiday meals

We are exploring the possibility of setting up a project to provide meals in the summer holiday for needy families. This would be a joint partnership between our two churches and other local businesses and community groups. At this point we are in the early planning stage, and are looking for people who might be interested in being involved, both in planning and in practicalities. If you would like to be part of this, please speak to Fr Chris ASAP.


Pastoral Visitors

Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in being part of the Pastoral Visiting Team. The training for this will begin on Wednesday 13th June.


St Barnabas 100’s Club

Linda Rowley is looking for more members of the 100’s club at St. Barnabas. Members are included in a monthly cash draw and contribute greatly to the work of the church. Anyone interested can contact Linda on 01782 866433. Thank you.

The Children’s Society Box Holders
Will all box holders please bring their boxes to church for opening and collect them from the back of church the following week. Thank you from Christine Wood.


Sanctuary Lamp

Would those who would like their loved ones to be remembered at either the day of their death, or birthday or any other special anniversary please record their names etc. against the nearest Sunday to that date. The donation towards the Sanctuary Lamp should be given to the Treasurer Kerry Parsons.


The Rainbows

The Rainbows are collecting used postage stamps to raise funds. Please would you save any stamps you get and pass them to Bev Jones at St. Andrew’s. Thank you.


Knitted Poppies for Remembrance
For Remembrance Sunday this year, we would like to have a display of knitted poppies. If you knit and would like a pattern to make some poppies for the church, please see Jacqui Love. Thank you.
