Samaritans Shoeboxes

Today, shoeboxes will be available to fill for children living in poverty or crisis overseas.  A simple Christmas Shoebox gift is a "Gift of Love" for a child who has never received such a gift before.  It is also a symbol of hope that someone, somewhere, cared enough to pack a gift meant just for them.  This year, you will also be able to pack, if you so wish, a box for the home which could include items for babies and the home etc. Also, please note that the age ranges have changed slightly.    All the information you will need is contained in the leaflet inside the box and I hope you will be able to take one and fill it as generously as you can.  Last year your shoebox gift was one of 29,467 sent to Bosnia lovingly packed in the UK., and we thank God for the thousands of children that received them.  Thanks, Sheila H

Poppies for St Andrew's

Lots of people have very kindly made poppies for the Open Days at St Andrew's. We are creating a notice acknowledging everyone who has contributed to the poppies - please check with Ann Gritton to ensure your name is included! Thank you.

First Aid Qualifications

If you have an up-to-date First Aid Certificate, please would you tell Chris Hammond (St Andrew's) or Ann Sillitoe (St Barnabas').

If you would be interested in joining the ministry of those who lead intercessions on a Sunday morning (either church), please speak to Fr Chris in the first instance. It is a wonderful ministry to lead the congregation in prayer, and we will offer training and support as you begin.

Remembrance at St Barnabas'

St Barnabas' PCC have discussed how St Barnabas' will mark the 100 year anniversary of the armistice on Remembrance Day. We are going to create a special display in church with poppies, photographs, and memorabilia of the two world wars and other conflicts our families or friends have served in. If any members of St Barnabas' would like to be involved in this, or know Bradwell people who may be able to lend some memorabilia to the display, please speak to Alison Coxon, who will be coordinating the tribute.

This takes place this year with Bishop Geoff at St Andrew's on Sunday 25th November. If you have not been confirmed and would like to talk about what it means, please speak to Fr Chris. Preparation classes will begin in September.
